You are ready to write when
You are ready to write when you are ready to write to one, not many.
When your voice is clear and focused to speak to someone specifically, not scattered or self-focused, then you have created the connection necessary to communicate — to a larger audience, if necessary.
I am an introvert (that might be hard to believe but it’s true. Crowds are draining and I seek quiet to recharge). But I have a message I care about. So I can put up with the exposure to criticism to the extent necessary to help others receive what I think is useful information and/or insights.
What I have is related to what I have been given that I think unique to my journey. The same is true of you.
If others can tell you the same thing I can, then I'm happy for them to do so. Competition is a poor mental construct for people who wish to create. It’s a destructive distraction.
To the extent I need to learn from others, which is a lot, is the extent to which I believe I need to be giving back in kind.
What are your thoughts?
What do you see as your areas of interest and value to the lives of others?
?
A Christian speaker I once heard posed the question, “Are you a balcony person, or a basement person?”; an encourager or someone who drags others down. In my life, and I suspect many others, you are both balcony people.
Everyone wants to feel as if they are valued. So I have tried to give back by being an encourager. It may be by sending a card or note or letter. When I get professional or exceptional service I let them know. Then I go that extra mile to seek out the boss to inform them of the positive experience I just had. But sometimes it is even in a small way, like talking to an elderly gentleman scrubbing the sidewalk ( on his hands and knees) in front of the Walmart. He just brightened up and chatted back, as I told him what a good job he was doing and how I'm sure his boss appreciated his wonderful work ethic. You never know whose life you might touch. And in turn we must be open to receive the blessings that are sent our way.
