The interesting thing I find about pain is that it hits us personally and often wakes us up (hopefully) to roles we have played in producing it. However, because we are human we also share in the general suffering of our worlds both close and far from home.
My pain has been self inflicted. I rejoice that our Lord, being human knows the shame and redemption that is felt and needed.
