I agree. That's why I like CS Lewis's take. We are to become perfect. We can't possibly do this to ourselves. This therefore requires walking as closely to Jesus as we possibly can (which is also just doing what we know to do) while accepting our own limitations and weaknesses at the same time.
Difficult to hear that Jesus actually meant all of what he said to us...in many different areas of life...but all worth our attention.
