It seems we get to decide if we will go along with the statement that all things are possible. If we determine the evidence, in spite of Jesus’s obvious opinion on the matter, is against the proposition that all things are possible, at least two things involving our lives will be set into motion. First we will continue to live in our own world, not God’s. Walls will seem to be closing in over time. Sure, we might give him lip service occasionally, but we know without question not all things can possibly be possible. Ours will be a world of impossibilities; constructed proudly by our own hands. This will then mean, secondly, that our vision into the future will be severely limited. We will not be able to see past our own opinions. This means, on the one hand, we will enjoy a low level of perceived control and authority over our own domains for awhile. Eventually, however, the truth we refused to even consider will finally shine through. This is because it is not dependent on us.
If all things are possible then we are surrounded by miracles. And if we aren’t seeing miracles perhaps it is due to our unbelief.
