Some people see themselves as problem solvers. They live to fix, improve, reshape their worlds. They love figuring things out and they believe this is what the world needs, and more specifically, what the world needs from them.
Hopefully those who enjoy solving problems are good at what they do, even though we all at times mess up. Not all problems are solvable directly, or quickly, or at all. And every problem emerges out of earlier ones. Plus each problem can spawn babies that grow to be big healthy problems of their own.
Problem solving can be looked at as a set of skills and abilities and everyone with a functioning brain will have their share of problems to solve throughout life.
Male and female brains generally approach problem solving differently. This is not to say either group is incapable of becoming effective problem solvers in their own right. And because much of leadership involves problem solving, both sexes can and do produce effective leaders. To achieve mastery in problem solving and leading each will have to work on their own weaknesses and blind spots which can be tied into whichever brain, male or female, happens to reside in their particular cranium.
Now, permit me to give you my answer to the question I posed in the title.
I believe that attitude needs to precede problems.
If the attitude is not right then everything that follows will be warped, which then creates unnecessary new problems.
So what is required to establish and maintain a healthy attitude?
I bet you know. Please share your thoughts in the comments below (that rhymes). Thanks in advance.
Cultivate a servant's heart and put others before yourself. But appreciate the unique gifts the Lord has given you and know that you're a child of God.
Begin each day with a grateful heart; and remember it isn’t all about me.
