What it Took to Make You — 2
If you feel you are insignificant, unimportant, and undeserving of anything good, you need to better understand why you really here.
Let’s review from yesterday’s post.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
And add this other well known verse:
1 John 4:8.
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
The creation of Cosmos, the entire creation with its stars and galaxies all the way down to every atomic element — of everything — was an act of love by the God who is.
Another defining characteristic of God besides love is mystery. He is unfathomable. That why faith is involved. You cannot and never will completely understand God and yet to live the best life possible requires a trust beyond sight and circumstances.
You are used to looking at yourself in the mirror and writing yourself off. After all, you think you know the complete truth about who you are.
But the truth is there is more to you than you can see and know right now because you are tied up in the mystery of God.
God made you and declared you good and yet you seem to think you know better.
It is true you sin and the reason is because you are a sinner. It is built in to this flawed world you were born into and inhabit right now.
But it won’t always be this way.
A new uncontaminated existence is ahead for those who trust this God of love.
Just remember, you were created to answer a fundamental question about the nature of God.
Is he really good? And is he really all powerful?
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
