When you pass through the waters,

The hardest thing about faith is also the hardest thing about prayer.
They both require letting go of personal control.
Once the prayer is spoken then faith instructs us to stand and trust that we will one day see the Promised Land. The most comforting thought to me is we are not alone even though it can often appear this way. Besides the fact God promises he will never leave us, we also are simply following in the footsteps of an army of faithful believers who have gone before — like Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.
