It sounds good, but there is a flaw.
Selflessness can be carried too far.
The objective in life is not to loose ourselves but to contribute our lives to the things that help us along with others.
We all need the continued growth that comes from helping others.
In other words, it is true what accusers often say, that people who help others are doing it to benefit themselves.
What is not true is that it works through trickery.
It is simply based on a universal truth that it is more blessed to give than receive because we ultimately can never out give God.
Also being good improves sleep quality in general — not an insignificant benefit.
And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
I coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.
You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me.
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
