Let’s Not Do That Again
After the lockdown people are still displaced and confused.
Some people are still wearing masks and it is for pseudo-medical reasons. They think it will keep them from getting sick, but there is no way of knowing. No good unbiased studies support mask wearing and yet, like good placebos, perhaps it has a positive psychological effect. I personally doubt it and think the unintended negative effects of disrupting relationships is unacceptable. This is especially true when we mask children implying that people in general are dangerous.
The Pandemic is over and fat chance I’m going to trust a politician to tell me otherwise or that there’s another just like it around the corner. I’ve become skeptical that, as a group, politicians have my best interest at heart.
Wearing a mask to prevent the spread of a virus has always been fear-based and is evidence that our local personal connections are fragile because we so quickly give them up. We obediently have locked ourselves in isolation and suffered terrible consequences doing so. If someone says we need to do this again and has no evidence we can consider first, civil disobedience is our best option I would think.
As long as nothing makes sense to large swathes of the population (including yours truly) the mental stability of society is susceptible to those claiming to know the answer to our problems; and the more mailable people become to anything promising a return to something, anything close to normal, we become vulnerable to authoritarians.
I hope people are beginning to wake up. I’m sure some never will.
And just as an aside, I believe those with a strong religious faith are not as easily taken in as the general population. To be clear, I’m not talking about cult followers seeking a spiritual looking leader to save them, but about those who have a trust in God directly. They actually expect the world at times to spin out of control, but to them it isn’t a big problem. Their security is found elsewhere.

Well said Ben. It is so important to know Who and why you believe, or you will be swayed by the wind of fear and become the victim of those who promise a solution only to control & devour you in the end.
I very much agree with your strong opinions here and am looking forward to it being continued. I appreciate your ability to be able to express things in a calm manner that everyone can understand.
