I can relate to this, While stationed at a military base we had an overage in the rank I was at. This particular rank was more of a technical rank requiring those who held it to be supervisors and trainers and not the worker bees. Because I was just promoted to this rank I was low on the work shift list. I was assigned as a gate sentry one day, an ammo arear guard the next day, followed by a gate and so on. I found that no one liked the ammo area so I requested it as a permanent post., While the other people of my rank constantly complained about their assignments, I went on my merry way. When asked why I responded that no matter what I was doing, I was getting paid the same. I happened to choose the post that had the least amount of people show up, was at a remote part of the base, and required absolutely no supervisory duties. I got a lot of homework for college done on that post which freed me up to spend more time with the family.
