How God Answers Job
Does God care?
Last night I had a conversation with very dear friends and they played me the song below. It is essentially God’s answer to Job.
To the one who believes in The God of Creation, there can be confidence, even in times of chaos and confusion, that everything, in the end (which may not be in this lifetime for some) will be put right. It is a promise.
Now we don’t have to believe it.
That is our choice, but life is more peaceful and manageable for those who will.
When God answers our questions, the answers are usually not what we expect. They are deeper, broader, and richer than we imagine, and usually they call us to humble ourselves under his might and simply do the next good thing leaving the rest (like running the universe) to him. Truly trusting God results in a peace that passes understanding.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.
The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
