Much of heart trouble, not of the medical kind, is due to a misplacement of trust.
Spiritual growth comes out of a stubborn belief, despite the massive evidence to the contrary, that I am God’s beloved child. My best source for trusting this to be true are Jesus’s words. This is because Jesus is God represented in human form.
There have been times when my trust in others, and even myself, have not protected my heart from disappointment. This is the struggle we all face, to trust an invisible God against, what appear to be real tangible threats and concerns.
Jesus calls us to lean in to the winds of doubt and walk with his invisible presence what he promises will be a truer path of peace and serenity than the one so easily defaulted to.
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
