Very soon, if your life is running smoothly, you will be overwhelmed with family members and friends in various levels of panic.
Normal, routine, predictable, daily activities will disappear and be replaced by abnormal, unpredictable, disruptive interferences.
Like what?
It’s not predictable, so I don’t know specifics, but let’s consider a few.
Violent attacks on soft targets around the US. Millions don’t cross the border from 156 countries in under a year without the potential for very bad things happening.
Cyberattacks.
Downing of power grids.
Loss of bank accounts.
The crash of the currency.
Supply chain disruptions.
Now in reality, the extent of the bad may directly affect less than one percent of the population, but it will be hyped by the media. None of this is hard to predict, and yet most people right now will still be shocked when it happens.
So if you trust God, I mean really have a working relationship with him, you will be like a tree planted by streams of water (Psalm 1). Your general purpose will be to comfort the afflicted while continuing to operate with any special gifts you have been trained to provide.
Finally, allow me to make the following observation about the devil. He works in deception and fear. If resisted, he will flee. He fears more the One on your side than you need to give him any heed at all.
This is not to say he isn’t dangerous, but he works through humans who choose to fear and side with him. Don’t allow this to be you even if it looks like you have no choices. You actually do. You resist and you call out. Your God will deliver you.
How?
That’s up to him.
You just stand and watch.
Very powerful- especially the line if resisted, he will flee. This may be something we already knew but it's helpful to be reminded - particularly in today's trying times. Then we can stand ready to help others.
Fear and self-reliance are Satan’s best tools. Keeping ones focus on Jesus is the ultimate and only defense.
