If something is true then there should be no fear to debate.
When the objective is no longer the pursuit of truth but instead to force consensus then dialogues end and learning stops.
Somewhere along the line within our Representative Republic many, in both elected and appointed positions of power, decided it was a good idea to manipulate messages by promoting one side and censoring the other under the guise that it might cause harm. There are now many things we cannot talk about or words we cannot use because they might trigger someone.
The time is now to stop accepting foolish positions taught on woke universities and return to the common sense most of us recall growing up.
Does this mean attempting to debate others?
Not so much.
I think, at least for me, it means first knowing what I believe and then living it out without apology.
It’s not so much attempting to get others to change, it’s disciplining myself to accept the uncomfortable feelings of swimming against tides when necessary, as God directs and empowers.
Amen!
