Those societies around the world most addicted to technology have been sapped of the skills that were once necessary for survival against a brutal environment. Especially the greatest skill and advantage we were given as mankind.
Our brains.
The ones capable of complex processing language and difficult problems.
We are now dumb enough to believe that the climate is hurting the world and needs our help to survive.
We were also recently suckered into thinking that the way to fight epidemics is to lock in place, wear masks, stay apart at least six feet when in public lines, but also allow open borders so others who did none of this are able settle among us.
Much of it is because we allowed others to think for us — and they weren’t thinking clearly and honestly. Instead, they were reacting both to fear and to their own drives to advance up the success ladder.
Surely, we thought once upon a time, our government leaders knew what they were doing. And perhaps many did — but they were not on the same side as most of us God-fearing family-centered types.
Of course it makes sense to someone somewhere that men want to be women and women want to be men. But this just hurts the average person’s brain. No mental illness involved, we are told to not go there. Instead, we are told this is actually wonderful evidence of societal progress.
We should celebrate.
It would be cruel to do otherwise.
And I could go on and on and on . . .
What really is going on?
First, we in the most technologically pampered and driven societies have stopped seriously thinking, which involves questioning everything in order to get at the truth.
Now, because we have bought the idea that truth is just an opinion, we hold back because we don’t want to hurt feelings.
Feelings are now the biggest deal. Not truth.
That’s the truth.
But there is a way back.
Resist.
Disagree.
Question.
Read widely.
And let the dead bury the dead.
And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.”
Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
People only believe those “truths” that already support their existing beliefs. Listening to real truth might be threatening or worse yet, involve change which involves real mental commitment. You are spot on re the dumbing down caused by technology.
I appreciate so much the direct manner in which you're able to explain today's world and stand up for truth!
