When your voice is clear and focused to speak to someone specifically, not scattered or self-focused, then you have created the connection necessary to communicate. Seeking bigger audience sizes affects the quality of your writing because it is too abstract and affects focus which then hampers clarity.
I am an introvert (a surprise to many). Crowds are draining to me. But I have a message I care about. So I can put up with the exposure to criticism to the extent necessary to help others receive what I think is useful information and/or insights.
What I have is related to what I have been given that I think unique to my journey. The same is true of you.
If others can tell you the same thing I can, then I'm happy for them to do so. Competition is a poor mental construct for people who wish to create. It’s a destructive distraction.
To the extent I need to learn from others, which is a lot, is the extent to which I believe I need to be giving back in kind.
What do you see as your areas of interest that can be a value to the lives of others? Write to yourself about that — when finished, share your thoughts to a few trusted encouragers to get feedback. Then publish like i’m doing and don’t fixate on response. It will come and you can’t control it. Remember, you wrote it for yourself. That’s enough.
