Yes, it’s a bit longer than my usual, but well worth your time. This speech could be given today with just a few current event tweaks and yet it is fifty-eight years old. What I think it demonstrates is the fact that nothing we are dealing with is new, only further down a very dark and predictable path.
It is easy to believe we are smarter than our ancestors and that the world we live in is too sophisticated for old principles of governance to be of any use. The truth is the book Ecclesiastes is right. There is nothing new under the sun.
If you have never heard this speech in its entirety before, then you have missed one of the finest ever given.
What a perfect time to share this incredible speech Ben. I for one had never heard it. This may be an introduction to many in how far back the corruption goes. We are also given hope. In just one week we can cast our vote and choose freedom.
